Glen Lonan Walk (August 28 2008)

Decided I'd go for a walk over the hills to Glen Lonan today. First time since April having been crocked with a hip injury so I cheated a bit and drove the car to Connel and parked there - but that's our little secret, OK

Just stepped out of the car the sun broke through the clouds and I was rewarded with this scene - the boat sitting on water smooth as glass. Wow ~ ~

Walked down through Glen Lonan towards Loch Nell. Stopped for a breather at the top of a hill and spotted some deer Unfortunately they bounded out of site before I got the camera out! But hey, you can see where they were.


Standing at the top of the hill, open, peaceful countryside around me, the only sound is the buzzard hovering above me calling to it's chick. Way too far off for me to go looking for, perhaps next time.

Meanwhile the dog has come to life after a two second lie down and is off down the hill below chasing rabbits. She never actually catches them but it keeps here amused. Somehow the rabbit sitting on the hill watching her zig-zagging on grass below seems to somewhat amused as well. Once again the furry creatures have the last laugh as this one's also disappeared before I can photograph it ......
