WOW! views from Oban Radio Station Hill

A high point with stunning views of the area, this is pedestrian access only with a fairly energetic walk to the top

There's very little to say about this place - it has no great history, myths or legends (Apart from the famous two headed Oban lop-eared rabbits ...) and is simply a radio transmitter for radio, TV and a few local services.

Not the easiest place to find but keep an eye out
for the giveaway radio mast ~ ~ ~

On foot:-

From the Royal Hotel in Argyll Square head up Albany Street (Ferries, Police Station, Tourist Info office on the corner)
After you cross the railway bridge carry straight on 50m to the bottom of Pulpit Hill.
Take the well signposted shortcut up Haggarts Brae.
At the top keep heading up for 20m, take the rough track and at the top continue on up the main road for 100m and take the first turn left into a little cul de sac, follow that road round to the gate, over the gate and up the hill. This is pedestrian access only and is fairly steep but the view is well worth the walk.

By car:-
( Lazy, but hey you're on holiday after all so take it easy ...)
Unfortunately you can't go all the way by car as it's a private road to the radio station (But public pedestrain access permitted).

Best suggestion is to park in at the small car park at Pulpit Hill and walk.
From the Royal Hotel in Argyll Square head up Albany Street (Ferries, Police Station, Tourist Info office on the corner)
After you cross the railway bridge carry straight on 50m to the bottom of Pulpit Hill.
Turn left and start heading up the hill.

Single track narrow road and the boy racers lack a few brain cells so take care. Follow the road to the second left turn and that's you there.
From the car park take the steps down by the side of the houses, at the bottom turn right up the hill for 100m and take the first turn left into a little cul de sac, follow that road round to the gate, over the gate and up the hill.
