Rather than give you distances and travel info for everywhere this site covers I'll give you information for travel to Oban which is the main town and you can take it from there.

For your convenience, further down this page there's a google map and a neat little travelling distance tool.

Getting here

Road
Travel to Oban by road is approximately 100 miles (2½ hours) northwest of Glasgow, 130 miles (3¼ hours) west of Edinburgh and 55 miles (1 hour) south of Fort William

Coach or bus
West Coast Motors operate sevices to Glasgow, Fort William and most local destinations
Citylink operate services to Glasgow and Fort William which are well timed for other connections.
West Highland Flyer, operated by a small local independent, is a minibus service to Fort William and Mallaig.

Rail
Three trains daily from Glasgow and destination along the way. Oban is at the end of the line.

Plane
Heh! Dragging us kicking and screaming into this century, Highland Airways now operates services to the islands of Colonsay, Tiree and Coll (I'm keeping the Coll girl jokes to myself ~~) from our shiny new Oban Airport.

An absolute delight not to be missed is the seaplane (Yes, seaplane!) service by Loch Lomond Seaplanes landing in Oban bay. There are three flights daily, March to November.

Boat
Calmac operate ferry services to many islands from Oban with many small independent operators offering more specialisd trips.
