Sunday Liverpool, sun still shining. Just home from a most
delightful week in Oban, your web forecast of weather very acurate. The accommodation at the esplanade
court was excellent in a well equipped flat in excellent
condition. The eating out at Manor House and The Fish restaurant on the pier top marks -
The trip to Mull and back - The trip to Loch etive - My binoculars returned over night and even
though you couldn't promise a heatwave by jove we had one. CLASS ACT as the say
Joe has just celebrated his 80th birthday and has been awarded an MBE in the Queens birthday honours list
~ ~ way to go Joe!Best wishes Joe Lambton
"I love your site. Having just visited Oban a few weeks ago for
the third time, I can say that I wish I had discovered the site before our recent visit! My husband
Alan and I just love Oban and the Western Highlands.
Best wishes, Carol".
"Hi, I have been to Oban on holiday some years ago and have been telling
my friend in America that it never gets really dark in Oban. Can you confirm this as they think I am
having them on. Is it all year round or only certain months. Can you play golf at night ?.
Thank you Kathy"
I can't play golf in the daylight never mind the dark! But yes, you're correct, we have lots of daylight
during the summer months -

"As a local man born and raised in Oban, you obviously have a vast and very personal knowledge of the area,
and your great love and enthusiasm for your birthplace shines through in your writing. We knew about
two of the vantage points, McCaigs Tower and Pulpit Hill, but hadn't heard of the Hydropathic Ruins,
Battleship Hill or Radio Station Hill. But never mind, we now know of their existence for our next visit!"
Carol, Sunderland
Hey it's her again! Thanks Carol, your cheques in the post ~ ~ seriously, delighted to have been
of assistance ~
We regularly stay at the Tralee Caravan Park. I wanted to say what a perfect place to stay -
the beach is 50 yards from the caravans (which are 5 star). Children and dogs romp along the beach,
and rock pools. It is a beautiful place that I felt deserves a mention.~~ Karen from Argyll
Thank for that Karen. I have fond memories of the Tralee from swimming as a kid, trying to look cool as
they come when a teenager right up to a couple of years ago when we went on the go karts!
"You never phone. You never come to see me. This is the best website in
